About his personal life and the difficulties he faced after the completion of his football career, he spoke to “Metropolis” Nikos Kyzeridis.
His veteran footballer Mars he referred to the health adventure he went through, for the fact that he got to the point of working three jobs to make ends meet, while he expressed his desire to get involved in football again.
In detail what Nikos Kyzeridis said:
“I became a grandfather for the second time. The day my daughter gave birth I went to the hospital and they asked me if I am the father of the child… And I say no I am the father of the girl. That’s nice to hear. You are happy for a while but then you get in your place. It is a great happiness and I praise God and my family, that I managed to live this thing too. Many years ago I could not even live to see the first grandchild. Whatever problems you have in your daily life, these events take them backwards. Everyone’s life has changed a lot and for the worse. And I don’t know where this will all go. I’m always an optimist and have faith, but there are some things your instinct is negative. Something has driven people crazy… I bring them along, like everyone else. I deal with the children in some groups but I have reached the point of doing three jobs. No shame, but I do. I work at night, I work during the day, I also go to school at noon. I work three jobs!
I also worked at night, I couldn’t do it anymore. I was working in a factory. From 11:30 to 8 in the morning. In the schools I was a football teacher, and in the afternoon I went to the fields to train my other children. Everyone didn’t believe it and told me what kind of soul you have… It’s not what I’m asking for, I’ve lived all my years in a stadium. You have to see where you can reach yourself. After the illness, I saw that I can do many things. As long as my body and my soul can bear. I never say “why god”, everything happens for a reason…I got to the point of falling, but I got back up! This is my life. I have the angels by my side, my wife, my children and my family. I am very rich in it.
I would also like to be in a group, to put my own stone. But as they say sometimes, please, please, it’s not possible. Many Greeks tell me “well, it’s possible for you to work over there, and not have a team”… I made some moves, they didn’t bear fruit. I lost a lot of money from football. If I got the money that was agreed to get, it would be around 500,000 euros. And if we put them before 2004, almost 20 years have passed. I’ve made mistakes too, but we shouldn’t judge. There were days when I cried, but you can’t beg all the time. That’s how life brought me. But I say sometimes, damn, this profession that I loved to not be able to help a player or a team. I find it a bit crazy…Let me show if I can!’
