Men’s Youth National Team friendly win over Jordan Men

THE Young Men’s National Team prevailed 62-58 her Men’s National Team of Jordan in a friendly that was hosted at the closed Agios Thomas. The Greek team is preparing for the U20 European Championship which will be hosted in Heraklion (8-16/7), while the Jordanians will compete in the World Cup.

Jordan came close (15-12, 14′) with the tension rising, but two three-pointers from Fitros and one from Boudouris changed the picture of the game and led to 24-12 (17′). The Greek team kept the lead with the intensity increasing and the distance decreasing (36-32, 26’45”).

With four consecutive points, Zougris made sure to send the difference back to +8 (46-38, 31’20”), but the rest belonged to the guests who with a 9-0 took the lead for the first time in the match (46- 47 (35?). Karakosta’s three-pointer brought our representative group back to the driver’s seat (49-47, 35’40”), Phytros followed for 51-47 (36’15”) and Neophytos with two consecutive three-pointers for 57-49 (37’30”) with the game entering its final stretch.

Jordan made a last effort, reduced (58-55) with 25″ to go, from the line Neophytos wrote 60-55 with 18″ on the clock. Bzai hit a three-point shot, but with 2/2 shots Neophytos was still there for the final 62-58.
