KAE ARIS announces the renewal of its partnership with Vassilis Toliopoulos for the 2023-24 season.
The Greek guard was reborn at ARIS last season, reaching the Men’s National Team, and will continue to wear the yellow and black, strengthening the team’s effort for a successful year. It is worth noting that the 27-year-old ace has also competed in ARIS in the second half of the 2018-19 season.
Vassilis Toliopoulos was born on 15/06/1996 and with a height of 1.88m, plays in the guard positions.
He began his involvement with basketball in the infrastructure sections of Panioni and in 2013-14 he competed for the first time professionally, in Ikaros Kallithea. In the summer of 2014 he moved to Rhodes on behalf of Kolossos and a year later he signed a multi-year contract with Olympiakos.
In the middle of the 2018-19 season, he wore the yellow and black for the first time, when he was acquired by ARIS. In 2019 he signed for two years at AEK and in the summer of 2020 he was loaned to Ionikos Nice. In 2021, he was acquired by PAOK and last summer he returned to ARIS, where he will continue next season.
Last year, the international guard had his most productive season, averaging 13.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.6 steals on 84% shooting, 48% 2-pointers and 33% 3-pointers in 28.7 minutes per game. His highlight, the away game against Peristeri, where he scored 38 points with 9/15 three-pointers. After the end of the official obligations of ARIS, he competed in French Boulazac.
Toliopoulos and the National Team
After an intense presence in the “small” National Teams, Vassilis Toliopoulos made his debut in the Men’s National Team on February 20, 2021, against Bosnia. His good season last year, led to a new call-up to our representative group, in the “windows” of last February for the World Cup qualifiers and the matches against Serbia and Latvia.
