With the 15th place, the National team completed its effort in this year’s World Youth Handball Championship. The representative group lost 29-38 to Bahrain in Rentis in their last match of the tournament and fatefully emerged 15th in the final ranking.
In the first half, the National Team had a bad start and found themselves losing 7-1. Bahrain continued to control the game, leading 18-10 and only towards the end of the first half did the National show some signs of recovery, going down 18-13.
With acquired speed and Daios making important saves, the Greek internationals reduced to 21-18 at 37′. At 39′:36′ and the score at 22-18, Stefanitsis received a straight red card. The Asians with a 4-0 run escaped 26-18 in the 43′ and the difference went to +10 to reach the final result.
