Wojnarowski: “The Heat have no advantage in the acquisition of Lillard”

by

One of the biggest serials expected in NBA it’s his Damian Lillard.

The great guard made the decision to leave the Blazers after 11 years, asking the Portland team to be traded to the Heat.

Nevertheless, the always valid Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Florida team is not the favorite to acquire “Dame Dolla”, since the Blazers want to get the best possible deal regardless of the player’s wishes.

What he said in detail:

“The Blazers front office, their management, made it clear to the teams that called yesterday about Damian Lillard that they are open to offers from all NBA teams. Damian Lillard wants to play for the Miami Heat, he told the Blazers. But he doesn’t have a no-trade clause the way Bradley Beal did. He can’t control where he goes next.

In Portland, they’re going to hit the market and try to find the best deal they can – a combination of young players, the draft, salary cap relief – all the things you want when a Damian Lillard star asks to leave. So I think this is not going to be a quick process and Miami has no advantage in trying to get Lillard.”.
