* The job in Austria for him Panathinaikos continued with morning training, in view of tomorrow’s (4/7) third friendly with Petrolul (19:00). The “green” trained in the morning at the Bad Erlach training center and in the afternoon Ivan Jovanovic has given them a day off.
*The weight dropped quite a bit in the growth part in this morning’s training. After the usual warm-up, the football players were divided into two groups and they worked on the build up in alternate ways from Ivan Jovanovic. The Serbian, based on 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3, has put new elements and ideas into the development with the aim, of course, to start showing extra things in the new season to come.
The groups were as follows:
Greens: Xenopoulos, Vaiannidis, Senkefeld, Fikai, Mladenovic, Ruben, Kleinheisler, Palasios, Djuricic, Aitor, Sporar.
Pink: Margono, Kotsiras, Sideras, Magnuson, Huancar, Tsokai, Cerin, Mancini, Bernard, Verbits, Ioannidis.
Zeka had the role of wild card.
Speed and quick movements
* Ivan Jovanovic asked for quite a few different things in training for growth and wanted immediacy and speed. “Switch sides faster. I want speed in thought and passing. Quickly change the ball, instantly transfer the ball from one side to the other“, shouted the Serbian coach to the footballers, while distributing several times “well done» when he saw right movements. The “clover” coach wanted intensity and the exercise to be done at a high tempoknowing that in the games to come his team will have to develop with speed to create overnumbers and breakdowns.
* After the completion of the tactics and work in the build up, the players were again divided into two groups. The one made up of defenders worked with Christos Contis on behavior at the back and maintaining the line with proper distances. The other had midfielders and forwards and worked on development and finishing under the direction of Ivan Jovanovic.
* At the end of the program, direct fouls were executed on one side of the field by Magnusson, Bernard, Csokai, Mancini, Trouillet and Sidera.
