Palikutsa: “We have agreed with a La Liga team for a striker”

by

In the revelation that there is an agreement with a “La Liga” team for the acquisition of a striker, Robert Palikutsa proceeded in a meeting – an interview he gave to the journalists who cover the report of Aris and who have followed the mission in Bulgaria.

“We have agreed with a team from La Liga for a striker, I will just have to meet the player up close. As you know I won’t sign a player if I don’t see him as a character first. To meet him, to talk to him. We are in final contact with two more wingers”, he said while at another point he transferred his position on the transfer of Chrysopoulos.

Palikoutsa’s statements in detail…

-For the attacker

“We have agreed with a team from La Liga for a striker, I will just have to meet the player up close. As you know I won’t sign a player if I don’t see him as a character first. To meet him, to talk to him. We are in final contact with two more extremists.”

-For Matei Vidra

“Depending on the development of the preparation and the games in Europe, we are open to the possibility of acquiring two strikers. The summer is long and by September 1 we must have the right players on the roster.”

-For the other transfer issues:

“Pavicic was Rijeka’s best player when I was there. The best in his position, in all of Croatia at that time. We got a talented Greek stopper who played in all the small teams in Germany. I really wanted to bring Zagaritis, but there was a severe delay and in 2-3 weeks a lot changes. When you lose time you have to make a decision for the team. It may be against his philosophy, but the team is more important than him. Ferrari knows the Championship and that makes his choice as good as that of a Greek footballer”.

– For the transfer of Konstantinos Chrysopoulos to AEK

“When I heard the rumors about AEK’s proposal, I called him to my office and explained my plan and that I wanted to help him in his development. If you want to develop your academy, you have to promote kids to the first team. We had decided to give him time but he really wanted to go to AEK.

He had talks with the coach of AEK. I don’t know what AEK intends to do, I personally explained my position to him. Things changed when he sent me a message in which he set some conditions for his stay. For me, these terms were not acceptable. On the one hand I understand them, but when you are a child of Mars and believe in yourself you don’t put such conditions. It’s not just Aris, you put your interest above the club. He was asking to have the right to leave if he was not guaranteed playing time.”

-On Brian Dubeau’s future:

“We don’t count Dabo even for the friendlies or the training sessions where the team works on tactics. I told him to find a change in his career and gave him time. He has a lot of quality, but we haven’t seen it on the pitch or in his day-to-day work.”
