Giorgos Daios will continue his career in the PAOK men’s handball team next season. The “black and white” announced the acquisition of the 19-year-old goalkeeper, so that he would be the third solution under the goalposts of the “two-headed” handball team.
In detail, the announcement:
“PAOK and the men’s handball department announce the start of cooperation with the athlete, Giorgos Daios, for the 2023-2024 season.
Born on 29/03/2004, Giorgos Daios plays as a goalkeeper and is 193cm tall.
He started handball in 2015, taking his first steps from Zafiirakis Naousas. In the team of his hometown he competed for three years, gaining valuable experiences from the men’s world, but also from the Handball Premier championship.
In the second half of the 2021-22 season, he competed at Aeropos Edessa, continuing his… journey in the top division of Greek men’s handball.
Last season he competed in HANTH, in another full year for him in the Handball Premier.
He is international with all age categories of the National team. In fact, he was regularly on the national team’s roster at the U21 World Championship, which was held this summer.
Regarding the start of cooperation with PAOK, Giorgos Daios stated on the club’s official website, acpaok.gr: “I am very happy that from the new year I will be a member of the PAOK family. I want to thank the Management and the coaching staff for their trust. I wish you a healthy and injury-free year.”
