Djuricits: “The atmosphere I encountered at Panathinaikos was a pleasant change”

Excited by his first experiences with the Panathinaikos shirt, said Filip Djuricicspeaking to the press representatives during the preparation of the “greens” in Austria.

The Serbian midfielder expressed the optimism that he will be ready for the club’s first official match against Dnipro and spoke highly of the pleasant atmosphere he has encountered in his new team.

In detail what he said to Panathinaikos reporters:

– I want to tell you that his performance in your unofficial debut with Panathinaikos excited the fans of Panathinaikos.

“Good performance is relative, it depends on one’s judgement. I wanted to show in my first game that I can play beautiful football. But that was not the most important thing. The most important thing is that we learn from each other. These are my first days at Panathinaikos, I am adapting and I believe that I will improve day by day”.

– Are you personally satisfied with his performance?

“My teammates have helped me to adapt and I feel very comfortable. I believe that against Petrolul I showed a part of my abilities, but I will not judge how my performance was overall. However, personally, I’m happy with what I did on the pitch.”

-You show that you are enjoying football again with Panathinaikos, after a difficult season with Sampdoria.

“Indeed, the year with Sampdoria was difficult. So, the atmosphere I met at Panathinaikos is a pleasant change for me. I joined an organized team, I have good teammates and I’m off to a good start.”

-You have taken part in a few training sessions since you came. Is your adjustment to the team easy? Is there anything that helps or hinders you?

“It’s never easy when you immigrate to another country, with another culture. But Greece and Serbia are two countries with a similar way of life and that makes it easier for me to adapt than it would be in another country. In the team there are many Balkan footballers, so I can connect with them faster. Everyone has helped me so much. In general, I am satisfied and I hope that the people of Panathinaikos who chose me will also be pleased.”

-How much time do you need, until we see Djurisic on the field, who will be 100% ready?

“I can’t predict that. I work every day to improve. I rested for ten days, I need some time to find my form again, but I have been competing for many years at the highest level, so I believe that I will not face any particular problems. Panathinaikos has a crucial game against Dnipro on July 25, so I’m working to be ready for this match.”

-What is his first impression of Panathinaikos and its style?

“I would say that Panathinaikos has an aggressive philosophy. A coach with nice ideas about football, I didn’t know him before I came here and he has pleasantly surprised me”.
