Pomaski: “Tedoglu is ready for the gold at the World Cup”

For its special character Miltos Tedoglou and the high goals they have set in view of the World Championship and the Olympic Games, he spoke to ERT George Pomaski.

The great coach spoke about the Olympic champion’s limits and the way they work together, emphasizing his optimism ahead of the next major events.

In detail, what he said to the ERT camera:

For the upcoming World Championship: “We are two days before the Panhellenic championship that will take place in Volos. We expect very good performances, it is the last chance for some athletes to qualify for the World Championship. We will work, we are on a good track. We expect very good performances from our children.”

For the World gold medal missing from Miltos Tedoglou’s collection: “It’s additional motivation and that’s what we’re working on. We will try our best, because this is how a Grand Slam ends. It is a goal that Miltos wants to achieve in the best possible way. He got away last year in Oregon, but this year he will be ready.

He’s a cerebral athlete, get pissed off, roll his eyes… That’s how it works. If it is a simpler race, he is calmer in his racing behavior. That’s why I’ve likened him to Michael Jordan, he has to be at a high level of intensity to work well.”

For the character of Miltos inside and outside the match: “He is a child who only minds his own business. He reads too much. I have to be very prepared to achieve both his feeling and his opinion of some movement in the fora and the jump, so that we coincide and I am not exposed. He is very good technically and I think these points are what characterize him and he is different in difficult moments”.

On whether he is more difficult during training or in the match: “At training. It works perfectly in the race.”

On whether he also acts as a psychologist for his athlete and what he would say to him if he started a match with two voids: “I’m not afraid at all, it won’t be a problem. Many times it causes it, to be so intense and aggressive. Making a small void, he can fix it at any time. Miltos only wants you to give him the objective. If you give it to him, it’s very easy to continue.”

For where he sees his limits: “Nobody can say that. The program is smoother this year because it is a pre-Olympic year. As I have understood very well, the Olympic Games are important for Greece. This is our goal. This year we spent it more smoothly, more calmly, with specific charges. Next year it will be 100% and we will be looking for 120%, then we will talk about the performances”.
