THE Yannis Kastritis spoke on his official website Mars for the team’s difficult mission in the second-ranked European competition, stressing that the Thessalonians need a lot of work to meet the demanding schedule.

“We are very happy and excited that the team is returning to a European competition, namely the EuroCup, after several years of absence. We can’t wait for the year to start and to be on the field, where we will face teams from the very top level of Europe.
Until then, of course, it is important to build our roster and from then on we all enter the field together, healthy and work hard, so that at the beginning of the year we are ready to meet the demands.
Regarding the draw, it’s obviously too early to say anything as all teams are in a rebuilding phase at the moment. We know that we are talking about the EuroCup, the antechamber of the Euroleague, so we understand that the level is very high.
In our group are the two teams that played in last year’s final of the competition, Gran Canaria and Turk Telekom, as well as teams that are champions in their countries, such as Ulm in Germany and Cluj in Romania.
The other teams have many years of experience and presence in the institution. We are continuing the very hard work we started, for the next season at all levels, with the aim of being ready to respond both in Europe and in the Basket League”.
