Ktistakis: “We deserved promotion, third place does our effort justice”

THE Junior National Team won with a score of 68-44 Bosnia and Herzegovinaand completed her very positive presence in EuroBasket U18 B category by winning a place on the third step of the podium, without however advancing to the A category.

The coach of Greece, Giannis Ktistakiscongratulated his players and emphasized that their effort was not justified by the final result, as they deserved promotion.

What he said in detail:

“I would like to congratulate all my players for giving their all throughout the tournament. I think that the third place does not do justice to the effort of all the contributors of the team. The team with limited preparation time and some injury problems actually deserved promotion, but never got it due to the fact that this year, unlike previous competitions, only the top two were promoted to Division A.

Both I and my colleagues Giannis Papoulis and Anastasia Gounaras, as well as the gymnast Dimitris Doxakis tried to make up for the lost ground and the team in every competition presented itself better and better. Let’s not forget that we only lost two games, by one point to Luxembourg and by 4 points to Croatia and they are the two teams that reached the final.”
