H Mira Andreeva, was banned from Wimbledon because of her careless behavior. More specifically in her fight with Madison Keysthe 16-year-old Russian, was eliminated by her opponent but also… because of her behavior, as she threw her racket to the ground twicemissing the chance to advance to the semi-finals.
Mira was leading 4-1 in the first set, but quickly saw her opponent turn the game around. After that, she threw her racket to the ground, unable to control her emotions, causing the umpire to give her the first warning.
She then dropped her racket again, following Madison Keys’ 5-2, with the umpire warning her a second time and giving her opponent the match point.
She claimed that she didn’t throw it, but that it slipped out of her hands, characteristically saying to the referee: “Do you understand what you did? I didn’t throw the racket, it slipped. It’s the wrong decision. It slipped and fell on me».
Mirra Andreeva got a point penalty that gave match point to Keys
She pleaded with the umpire that she fell & slipped.
Looking at this, she clearly lost her footing.
She released the racquet, but I think the umpire could’ve let this one slide
Sad ending.

Despite all this, the referee did not change her decision, as a result of which Kis got the victory with 3-6, 7-6, 6-2. At the end of the match Andreeva left irritated, giving her hand to her opponent, but not to the referee of the match.
Andreeva came very close to becoming the youngest Russian player to reach the Wimbledon quarterfinals since Anna Kournikova in 1997.
On the other hand, Madison Keys will attend the Wimbledon quarterfinals for the second time in her career, where she will face Arina Shamalenka, who won 6-4, 6-0 against Ekaterina Alexandrova.
