The announcement of Atromitos:
PAE Atromitos announces the start of its cooperation with Lucas Acevedos, who was acquired on a free transfer, signing a one-year contract.
Lucas Acevedo (8/11/91) plays as a central defender and started his first steps at Newell’s Old Boys Academies. However, his first team as a professional was Tiro Federal where he stayed for one season (2012/13), as his performances earned him a transfer to Rosario Central. During his time with Rosario, he played on loan at Nueva Chicago, Estudiantes, Ferro Carril Oeste, Santa Marina and San Martin.
The latter in 2018 acquired him with a regular transfer and in 2019 he made a new transfer to Cologne. Since then, he followed his passage to Palestine and Platense.
Our new transfer acquisition, who took the number “5”, made his first statements on atromitosfc.gr after the conclusion of the agreement.
“I am very happy that everything went well and I belong to Atromitos. It was my dream to come to Europe in a good and strong league and especially in a good and organized team like Atromitos.
I know very well the excellent course that other Argentinian footballers had in the past in Atromitos, having written great history. My goal is to continue this positive tradition, justifying the people in the team for the trust they have shown me all this time through the discussions we have had.
For this reason I want to thank Mr. Giorgos Spanos for his efforts, but also the Technical Director, Yiannis Angelopoulos and the coach, Chris Coleman, who chose me and trusted me for Atromitos of the new season.
I had other proposals from Europe and Latin America, but also from my previous teams to return, however, when I learned about Atromitos I didn’t think much about coming to Greece. I had no doubt.
I’ve only been here a few hours and with what I’ve seen, I’m impressed. I really have no words. Everyone has welcomed me in the best way and they deserve congratulations to those who have tried to create this training center in Mazarakis, which offers all the conditions to every footballer to bring out his best.
I have learned and been informed by the team people that this year is special and very important because of the 100 years of Atromitos and what I promise is to give everything to bring joy to our world for this coming season».
