“A number of players and members of delegations from six teams have shown symptoms of viral infection. The teams affected are Finland, Greece, Lithuania, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey. The exact cause of the disease and the diagnosis have not yet been established.
All those affected are under constant monitoring by team doctors and local health authorities. FIBA, the Serbian Basketball Federation and the local organizers will continue to monitor the situation and will share any updates, including a possible decision on the match schedule, with all interested parties accordingly.
FIBA wishes a speedy recovery to all those affected.”
