Hajduk Split-PAOK: Difficult outing against Livaya’s team for the “Northern Doubleheader”

by

The qualification against Beitar in Jerusalem has been a thing of the past for days PAOKwho tonight has an even tougher outing ahead of him.

For 3rd qualifying round of the Conference Leaguethe Thessalonians face away from home Hajduk Split of Marko Livaya, looking for a qualification step for the playoffs.

The match will be played at 22:00 (Novasports 2 & News Bulletin 247) and Razvan Lucescu will have newly acquired Ozdoev at his disposal but not Augusto, who will continue his career in Nantes – anyway, of course he was punished. Nasberg, Sastre and Lyratzis were also left out.

The ‘Northern Doubleheader’ is expected to encounter a hot atmosphere at the packed Pollywood Stadium, with Lucescu stating that “we are used to such stadiums and such seats.

And in Greece in derbies we face such atmospheres. We are well prepared. The team looks good, has energy, we want to go and play our game and do well.

The teams are completely different. Beitar had a more defensive approach and wanted to block us. Hajduk is more aggressive team, has a nice style of play.

But as I told you, we look at it game by game. We are well prepared and at the moment we are looking at Thursday’s match. In the summer qualifiers it makes sense to face different teams in terms of their game and you have to be well prepared.”

The hosts, on the other hand, are coming off 2/2 draws in derbies with Dinamo Zagreb and Rijeka, with tonight’s match being their first in Europe this year.
