“We are forced to speak after the unprecedented lynching of the Bad Blue Boys in Athens by the Greek media and their audience. Unfortunately, a large part of the Croatian public and media participates in all this.
It is incredible how easily the Croatian media accept the fact that our members are responsible for the tragedy that happened and there is no evidence for it. Nor can there be, as time will soon show. There is only an alleged “investigation” by the compromised Greek police, whose sole aim is to then direct a script whereby the shameful gesture of using a knife in a fan clash will be attributed to the Croats to satisfy the bloodthirsty public, the media and politicians.
At the same time, seven of our brothers who are in Athens were injured by the use of knives. Three were injured by flares and one member of our group received up to seven (7!) stab wounds. Is there anyone in Croatia for whom what we are reporting disrupts the narrative that the Bad Blue Boys are responsible for everything?
We appeal to all Croatian media and public: Stop this lynching of a hundred Croatian citizens and do not participate in it! Do not destroy and play with the lives of young people for the sake of sensationalism!»
