The President of KOE, Kyriakos Yiannopoulos, as vice-president of LEN, prefaced the draw for the men’s and women’s European Polo Cups on Thursday in Manisa, Turkey, and referred to the changes that have occurred in the way all events are conducted.
In the men’s Champions League, the champion Olympiacos was drawn in the second group of “16” with the European champion, Pro Reko, Dinamo Tbilisi, as well as the winner of group D of the qualifiers (Yug Dubrovnik, Dunaisvaros, Turgoin, Dinamo Bucharest).
There will be three home games and as many away games for each club and will be completed at the end of December. Two teams from each group advance to the quarterfinals in March. The remaining two will play in the quarter-finals of the Euro Cup.
The groups of the “16” phase:
GROUP A: Novi Beograd, Sabadel, Steaua Bucharest and the winner of Group B
GROUP B: Pro Reko, OLYMPIAKOS, Dynamo Tbilisi and the winner of Group D

As far as the qualifying phase is concerned, it will be held between September 8-10 and the top of each group will advance to the “16” and the rest will play in the Euro Cup qualifiers.

In the women’s Champions League, moreover, four of the five Greek teams were drawn for the qualifying phase. And this is because the champion Olympiacos has already secured its qualification to the groups of the next round, the draw of which will take place on the sidelines of the European Championship in Netanya.
Each group consists of five teams, of which the first three secure the “ticket” for the next phase and the remaining two will continue in the Euro Cup. The games will be held September 21-24. ANO Glyfadas and Alimos NAS “fell” in the first group, Ethnikos in the second and NO Vouliagmenis in the third.
