Ricciardo underwent an operation

Daniel Ricciardo underwent successful surgery on Monday and is expected to be out of F1 racing for the next quarter. The Australian Red Bull driver crashed at Turn 3 during Sunday’s Dutch Grand Prix and broke the metacarpal on his left hand.

Before the start of the match, the head of the company, Christian Horner, confirmed the success of the operation. “He had surgery earlier in the day. They placed a plate in his arm. The operation went well, it was successful. The bone was broken into several pieces, but it was a normal process,” he said.

The news was confirmed by Ricciardo himself via Instagram. “I had the surgery this morning. Thanks to everyone for their messages and trying not to break down. It’s not an obstacle, it’s part of my comeback.”

Horner told “Sky Sports” when the return of the Australian pilot is estimated. “A normal person takes 10-12 weeks to recover from this injury. But we know that Formula 1 drivers are not normal people. It will all depend on the recovery process. It might take three weeks, it might take six. No one knows.”

Ricciardo will definitely not compete in the Monza Grand Prix, September 1-3.
