Start of registration for the 2nd Patras International Half Marathon

With the official start of registration, preparations for its organization begin 2^u Patras International Half Marathon.

The big date with the great running event, which will be organized again this year by the sports association PELOPS and the journalistic organization of the PELOPONNISOS newspaper in collaboration with the Region of Western Greece, has been set for April 7, 2024 and there is already great impatience among its friends running movement – ​​and not only – to participate in the great celebration.

The “menu” will once again include three races, the “main course”, which is the 21 km race on a route that combines the sea front with the urban fabric of Patras, the 5 km race and the race for children, on a route of 1 km.

The organizers are inviting young and old, men and women from our region, but also from Greece and abroad to “attend” the race-festival.

THE Regional Governor of Western Greece, Nektarios Farmakis, in his message he stated the following: “The Region of Western Greece has made the strategic choice to participate in sporting events, small, medium or large scale, knowing that sporting events strengthen local communities in various ways: They ideally connect sports with tourism, promote Western Greece, create new experiences and of course they give locals and visitors the opportunity to participate, but also to get to know the venue. In this context, the Region of Western Greece supports the 2nd Patras International Half Marathon, an event that highlights the special characteristics of the city, combining the unique seafront with the urban fabric. I am sure that the participants, athletes and spectators will highlight the 7^the April 2024 as a day of sports celebration”.

THE president of Pelopas, Giorgos Kaouris, stated the following: “The start of registration for the 2^The Patras International Half Marathon marks the start of the countdown to the organization of the great race that will take place on April 7, 2024 in our city.

An event, which offered unique moments to all those who participated in the first race last April, but which at the same time advertised Patras, Achaia and Western Greece to the whole world.

For our part, as Pelopas, we are proud of the final result of 1^u International Half Marathon and we have already started the hard work in order for the “sequel” of the meeting to be even better and of an even higher standard. We promise that next April’s event will offer strong emotions to the participants, as well as to everyone who attends it, as it will include even more surprises and even more great incentives for someone to take part.

And all this in a route that is characterized by everyone as extremely exciting, combining the urban fabric and the sea front of our city.
