Schroeder: “Worst game of my career”

by

THE Dennis Schroeder he didn’t hide behind his finger after his near-fatal performance in the World Cup quarter-final with Latvia. The team’s superstar had 4/26 shooting, 4 turnovers and a lot of bad choices, but it didn’t count as Germany won 81-79.

It was probably the worst game of my career, but we’re in the semi-finals. So congratulations to all the lads in the team who helped us win and it wasn’t my own bad performance. Franz (Wagner) had not played in four matches, but he came back and helped us a lot. He’s special, but he wasn’t the only one who helped. Everyone helped, that’s why our team is here, because we are a good group“, he emphasized.

As for how he’ll… get over the bad looks? “I always try to do the best and what the team needs. I will prepare the same as I always do and it will be a fun game against the USA. We will enjoy our victory and prepare for the semi-final“, he answered and continued: “Congratulations to Latvia, they are a very good team and they beat many teams. We’re now focusing on Friday’s semi-final and we’re going to fight the USA, we want to go as far as we can».

Finally, about how he feels representing his country, he said:I am very happy to play for Germany, it is the most wonderful feeling in the world. I’ve been playing in the NBA for ten years and people can’t see many games because of the time, so I’m happy to play here now and everyone in Germany can see me».
