Statements at the press conference ahead of tomorrow’s (16/9, 17:00) match with Brighton were made by the coach of Manchester United, Eric Ten Haagtalking about the much-discussed issue that has arisen with Jadon Sancho, while also referring to the Anthony case, but also the intense criticism that Harry Maguire has to deal with.
What the United coach said in detail:
For Sancho: “I was asked by the club to be strict because in the recent past there was no discipline. My job is to control situations. It is never the fault of just one, it is a whole process that precedes the result. You shouldn’t cross the lines that have been set, so you have to be strong”.
For Anthony: “I have no idea when he’ll be back. Of course he’s disappointed, but he’ll be fine.”.
For Maguire: “I have said it many times, what is said about him shows disrespect, he does not deserve it, I am a fantastic footballer who gives us very good performances. It’s crazy, Harry has to close his ears. He manages it very well, you can see the career he has, he has to respond with good performances”.
