Statements ahead of the Grand Prix of Japan were made by Max Verstappenwho denied that Red Bull’s recent dominance is making the Formula 1 championship boring.
The Dutch world champion disputed the arguments of those who claim that Formula 1 has become boring, stressing that real fans would appreciate him and his team performing at such a high level, simply being better than their rivals.
So, speaking about Red Bull’s disappointing performance in Singapore and whether this result was good for the sport, the Verstappen answered:
“I’m not interested in this conversation at all. We won cleanly in Singapore. I don’t think about what’s good for Formula 1. I don’t think what’s happening is bad, we’re just better than everyone else. Anyone who can’t appreciate that isn’t a true fan of the sport.
That’s how it goes and that’s why I’m cool with it. We didn’t perform as well as we should have, the others did a better job and of course they deserved to win. Some say it’s boring that we keep winning, but in Singapore we had a different result.”.
