THE PAOK made a positive start to his duties in the Conference League, after winning with a score of 3-2 Helsinki in Finland, despite being behind in the score.
A key factor in the winning result was Konstantinos Koulierakiswho scored the first goal of the “double-header of the north”, equalizing at 1-1 and setting the stage for the upset.
The 19-year-old stopper, seventh youngest scorer in his history PAOK in Europe, he spoke after the match on the team’s official channel about the victory but also about his feelings from the fact that he found the net.
In detail what he said:
“It was a difficult victory I can say, in special circumstances, with synthetic turf, against a good team. We brought the game to our own devices, we got an important victory for our psychology and for the rest of the group. We are very happy with the result.
We came here with victory in mind. We started well in the first 20 minutes, then the opponent dominated, scored the goal, half time came. There we calmed down, talked a bit, saw how things are and entered the second half to win. He scored the first goal which helped a lot, regardless of whether I scored it. Whoever put it in would be just as important. From then on we dominated and controlled the match at intervals.
In this particular phase I felt that I will put it in, that the ball will come to me, that I will chase it and the ball will go into the net. I’m very happy, but like I said I’d be just as happy whoever put it because we’d get an important win. Now we forget about the game and look at another difficult match, we have to go to Ioannina, away from home, and we have to go there to win.”
