Giannakopoulos: “We have returned to the highest step – We will be happy if we lift the Euroleague”

THE Dimitris Giannakopoulos talk to ACTION24 and referred to various subjects.

First he talked about the projects which are made in OAKAthe goals but also the investment which has happened this season in Panathinaikos:

“It is a tournament that honors the memory of Pavlos Giannakopoulos and we always want to have the highest level. Partizan was the best team last year in the Euroleague, things happened with Real and they didn’t manage to go to the Final-4.

Efes have won two Euroleagues in the last three years and Bayern are trying to restart. High level teams, we have also returned to the highest step and I hope there will be good matches”.

The biggest transfer is your return and investment this season?

“I will not agree. My family and I have always been close to Panathinaikos. Sometimes more, sometimes less. It just so happens that this year is one of the years that a serious and significant investment has been made.”

What will you be happy with?

“To play good basketball so that people come with their families, rejoice and leave with anticipation and counting the time to come to the court again. If the tournament successes come and we can go to the Final-4 or lift the big cup, we will be very happy”.

Do you also do many projects at OAKA?

“Unfortunately, the state had not maintained the stadium in the condition it should have. This year we want to correct the mistakes that have been made. We are changing water supply, pipes, radiators and some actions inside the field. The real facelift will take place next year so that next season we will have a stadium that we will be happy with.”
