A… first sample was given to the world by Panathinaikos!
The “greens” gave their first friendly to OAKA in an amazing atmosphere, and won with a score of 80-73 Bayern Munichwhich means that they will play in the final of the “Pavlos Giannakopoulos” tournament against Effectson Sunday (24/9, 20:00).
THE Panathinaikos never lost the lead throughout the race, but struggled a lot against the harder-working Bavarians. Finally, in the end his team Ergin Ataman found the solutions he needed in defense and attack, taking the difficult victory.
Leader of the match, in his best game so far, was Kyle Guy, who scored 13 points, while also hitting a crucial three-pointer to make it 77-72. More generally, Panathinaikos had a plurality, with Lessor (13 points), Grant (11 points), Balcherovski and Mitoglou (10 points) also scoring in double figures. Juancho was also very positive, with 8 points and 5 rebounds.

THE Bayern made a comeback early in the second quarter, cutting Francisco to 32-21, with Papapetrou answering with a difficult basket for 34-21. By Lessor now the focus of the attacks, Ergin Ataman’s team maintained its double-digit lead with relative comfort, without ever escaping the score (38-27). THE Bayern temporarily reduced to 38-30, but the Papapetrou restored the double digit difference (40-30). Nevertheless, the Bavarians led by Edwards got closer to 6 (41-35), while the half ended at 43-37.
With the beginning of the second part, o Kyle Guy hit a 3-pointer for 46-39, increasing the lead a bit again. THE Bayern however, he reacted again with Booker and Bonga, tying the score at 46. Panathinaikos, led by Balcherovski, went back to +5, with a three-pointer by the Pole (53-48). However, the Bavarians kept close with Bolmaro as leader (54-52). The derby continued, with Edwards playing amazingly though Mitoglou to put Panathinaikos in front with 5 (61-56). The third period ended at 61-58.
In the fourth quarter, the difference rose again to +7 (65-58), with the home team being very inaccurate but constantly renewing attacks. With two shots of it Lessor, it was 67-58, with Panathinaikos escaping again, before the French impressively nailed Bayern’s basket for 69-58. THE Mitoglou he made great actions and made an important three-pointer for 74-63. The Bavarians with Booker cut to 74-67, forcing him Ataman to call a timeout. Their counterattack continued, with Francisco cutting it to 74-72, before Guy hit a big shot for 77-72. THE Lessor with a goal foul he scored 79-72 and effectively ended the match.
