Fournier: I feel like the Knicks are holding me hostage, I hope they give me a chance

For the situation he experiences in New York Knicks since the beginning of last season and his ouster from the team, spoke o Evan Fournier on French radio.

In particular, the 30-year-old forward gave an interview to “RTL”, stating how he feels like a hostage in the New York organization, since, on the one hand, he is not in the plans of the coach and does not compete, and on the other hand, he is not granted by exchange.

As he pointed out, all he wants is to given a chance to prove his worth, otherwise he will have to look elsewhere for his future.

“I’m still in New York right now. I want to go. But beyond retirement, I want to have the opportunity to find playing time again. That’s all. That’s mostly it. Because in New York I feel extremely well. I love living there, I love the franchise, I love playing at Madison Square Garden, I love the guys on the team. So I want to play, that’s all. I have to find another club, change franchise, if that’s what I have to do to play again, that’s what I’d like to do.

If I knew, for example, that the coach would give me 10-15 minutes here and there, I know I could make the most of it and gradually grab minutes and perform well. But that is not the case. I don’t get a chance to play and even worse, I feel like I’m being held hostage. I hope this situation resolves itself and I especially hope the Knicks give me a chance.” said the experienced Frenchman, who last year barely counted 27 appearances with 6.1 points and 1.8 rebounds average.
