From official lips, the pleasant news was confirmed that the Etienne Faessen regained consciousness after the clash with Brombay, in Vaalwijk’s clash with Ajax.
The Dutch goalkeeper fell unconscious to the ground after the incident and dramatic moments followed, with the match being stopped for good and the 28-year-old footballer being taken to hospital by ambulance.
A little while later it was leaked by Dutch Media that he is conscious, with him KRC technical director Frank van Moesfeldto confirm the news.
“Luckily he had recovered when he left the pitch. I imagine it looked very difficult with all the screens around him.
He has gone to the hospital for tests, hopefully nothing serious will be found. He was responsive but didn’t know what had happened or where he was.
I would like to congratulate the medical staff, they rushed to help him as he was unresponsive at first. With what we know now, there is no heart issue. He lost consciousness due to the impact”he said.
A little later, the relevant announcement came from the club regarding Faesen’s condition.
It is recalled that the match was stopped in the 84th minute with the score 3-2 in his favor Ajaxwho next Thursday (05/10) will face the AEK for the Europa League.
