ESPN is celebrating the results of the second match between Palmeiras and Boca Juniors (ARG), which defined the second finalist of the Libertadores da América 2023.

Shown exclusively on pay TV, the match achieved the biggest buzz in the history of the sports channel since it arrived in Brazil in 1994.

According to exclusive data obtained by F5referring to Ibope PNT on pay TV, the football match narrated by Paulo Andrade, with comments from Gian Oddi and Zinho, achieved an average of 16 Ibope points with peaks of 18.

The game was the isolated leader on pay TV. Second place is the Viva channel. The peak was precisely in the penalty shootout, which made Boca advance to the very final.

Including open TV, the game beat Record and SBT, and only lost to Globo, which showed the soap operas “Terra e Paixão” and “Todas as Flores”. This is also the biggest peak in pay TV ratings in 2023. In total, on pay TV alone, the game managed to reach 1.9 million homes.

With the result, ESPN achieved the second biggest day of all time and managed to boost other programs, which followed the match.

The post-game debate Linha de Passe, led by Daniela Boaventura, and with participation by André Kfouri, Paulo Calçade, Leonardo Bertozzi and Vitor Birner, achieved its highest rating in history since the creation of the program in 1999, with an average of 6 points.

SportsCenter 4, which closed the live programming and was led by Edu Elias, achieved 2 points on average and led in pay TV among all channels with ease.

The Libertadores da América final is scheduled for November 4th, at Maracanã (RJ). Fluminense and Boca Juniors will be broadcast by Globo on open TV, on pay TV by ESPN and Star+ via streaming.
