Pavlidis sent the sad Ajax to… Tartara!

by

His downfall Ajax goes on. THE Alkmaar pass me by 2-1 from the Johan Cruyff Arena in the eighth matchday of the Eredivisie and pushed Ayanda into the relegation zone.

AEK’s opponent in the Europa League groups went for a fifth straight game without a win in the league (seventh in all competitions) and is now in 16th place with just five points.

Alkmaar, on the other hand, continues its unstoppable run, counting the seventh victory of the year which has lifted them to the top, with a point more than Eindhoven (they have a game in hand).

Among the protagonists for AZ was Vangelis Pavlidis for one more game, who opened the scoring at the end of the first half.

The Greek striker continues to make history in the Dutch league, as he became the first player of Alkmaar and second overall in the Netherlands to score in the first eight league games.

De Witt did it 2-0 at 57′, with Ajax looking unable to find the answers. Out of nowhere, van den Boumen reduced to 2-1 at 73′ and Aiantas appeared to “come alive”. Alkmaar, however, was not only not threatened, but came close to 3-1 with Odgaard’s double chance, which went untapped.
