Marthelino blasted Marseille: “They are not as big a club as they would like to be”

by

Having now become a thing of the past from her bench Marseille The Marthelino he couldn’t stand it and lashed out against the French team. The Spanish coach spoke to “Equipe” expressing his dismay at how his partnership with her ended. “It’s not as big a club as it would like to be”says Marthelino, among others, who stands on the enormous influence that her organized followers have on administrative decisions.

“My very short experience makes me believe that this is a club where creating a project is absolutely impossible. Because such a big club cannot be manipulated by a few. “The serious clubs are led from the top and every problem, every situation is dealt with and punished if necessary,” he says at another point.

Marthelino initially mentions in his statements about Marseille:

“I felt very angry, disappointed and sad. We had put all our enthusiasm into developing a super attractive project, in a big club. In any case, we thought it was a great club in every sense of the word. But these sad events prove that it is not as big a club as it would like to be. Some fans, who want to permanently influence events, prevent it from being a big club”states and continues:

“I spent twenty years as a coach and almost twenty years as a professional player before that, and I had never seen this before in my life. And I don’t think I’ll ever see it again. At least I really hope so. It is a far cry from what the reality should be, in 2023, in a civilized country. Football is a passion, but there are limits.

My very short experience leads me to believe that this is a club where creating a project is absolutely impossible. Because such a big club cannot be manipulated by a few. Serious clubs are led from the top and every problem, every situation is dealt with and punished if necessary.

Fans are advocates, they convey passion and they are indispensable. To experience home races in the Velodrome is magical, really, it’s unlike anything I’ve experienced. So the fans encourage, the coaches work and, at the end of the season, we take stock.

But not after two months. This seems to mean that everything was orchestrated in advance. Clubs need to evolve, not regress. And Marseille, as the results show, is a club that instead of developing is regressing”
ends up.
