The Pan-European Boxing Cup was held in Budva, from 6-10 to 15-10, where 156 top boxers from 30 European countries took part. Greece was represented by our champions Vagan Nanitzanian and Michalis Tsamalidis accompanied by the Federal Coach Artur Mikaelian.
In a semi-final that had the makings of a high-class final Vagan Nanitzhanian faced the very experienced and 2023 world bronze medalist Narek Manasyan of Armenia. Carrying out one of his best performances, Vagan Nanijanian played against the Armenian, dominating several points in the match, which was decided in the details, giving our country the bronze medal, in a great event in which the Elite of Europe’s athletes participate.
The Hellenic Boxing Federation in its announcement about winning the bronze medal at the EUBC ELITE MEN BOXING CUP 2023 states the following:
“Winning the bronze medal in such an important event represents yet another impressive achievement and is recognition of the efforts, talent and dedication of our athlete, bringing great honor to our National team and our country. This achievement is not only a testament to his outstanding class, but also a source of inspiration for young athletes seeking their dream in sports.
We express our warmest congratulations to the Greek delegation that deservedly represented us at the Pan-European Boxing Cup and strengthened our hope for future successes and new conquests. Our athletes deserve our appreciation and our respect for their dynamism and vigor in every match they fight to take Greek Boxing even higher.”
