The extreme promising start for the Greek teams in Europe this year has allowed the bar to rise, with our country remaining at 19th place in the UEFA standings but to look up.
And the lofty goal of 15th may seem a long way off, though according to Opta, Greece is going for… 14th!
The well-known statistics firm has published its prediction of where UEFA’s member countries will finish, based on what we have seen so far and how the group standings are shaping up in the ChampioNs, Europa & Conference League.
So most likely, we have them for 14th place with 24.6%, with the 15th following with 19.7%. The 16th gathers 13.6%, with the most optimistic scenario being that of the tenth with just 2.2%.
Israel, Norway, Serbia and Denmark are, based on the numbers, the main rivals, while the Czech Republic looks certain to finish higher and Ukraine lower.
It is reminded that from the 15th place and above, the fifth European ticket is secured from the 2025/26 season.
