With many offensive options, Prometheus swept Marousi 111-92 in Patras for the third game of the Basket League and maintained the absolute and first place in the standings, leaving the newcomers in last place without a win.
Ilias Papatheodorou’s players reached double-digit differences in the first half, they were pushed a little in the fourth, but with new streaks and “breakouts” they reached +19.
The pioneers in this were Hale with 27, Reynolds with 22, Cowan with 21 and Etzenike with 20 points. For Amarousiotes, Lukovits stood out with 16, Hill with 15, Radulitsa with 14 and Juston with 13 points.
With Reynolds and Etsenike leading the way, Prometheus led 11-3 and 18-5 of the newcomers with the right choices in the basket. Briscoe starred in Amarousi’s 6-0 run for the visitors’ 18-11 lead, but Cowan took matters into his own hands and with consecutive points made it 25-14 at the end of the first quarter.
Cowan hit a double to start the second inning and was the lead offensively for the Patriots during that stretch. Maroussi found the solutions with Radulitsa and Juston and with a 5-0 run they reduced 33-25 and with a new 4-0 34-29. Hale took the initiative and maintained +6 to +8 for Elias Papatheodorou’s players. Radulitsa with a personal 4-0 run reduced to 41-39 and 43-40, but there a partial score of 6-2 for Prometheus brought it to 49-42 at the end of the half.
