The program continues today with three games in the 9th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League, after the first victories scored in the league by Volos (against Kifissia) and Atromitos (against Panaitolikos).
Today’s program highlights the match between Panathinaikos and Panserraikos, a team that has shown very good results this season, while the “greens” are asked to put aside the fatigue from the last game against Rennes.
Earlier, Asteras Tripoli welcomes Lamia and Aris, one hour after the start of the match at Leoforo, hosts PAS Ioannina, in an extremely interesting match.
Asteras Tripoli-Lamia
Two of last year’s three meetings between the two teams ended in a goalless draw, one at Lamia’s home ground for the first round and the second in their Playouts game. Meanwhile, the Arcadia team prevailed 3-0 at home for the regular duration of the championship.
That was just Asteras Tripoli’s second victory in nine matches that have welcomed Lamia. In the nine visits to the home of Astera Tripoli, the team from Fthiotida has managed to get three wins, four draws and has been defeated twice.
Five of the 15 meetings between them in both venues have ended 0-0, while there are a further five where only one of the two teams has scored.
In only three of their matches has the home team prevailed, while the “winner” is the draw with eight appearances in the 15 independent home games.
Asteras Tripoli’s victory in the Second Round of last year’s championship was the first since October 28, 2019, when Asteras Tripoli won again 4-1.
In fact, in the five games before Asteras’ last victory, the home team didn’t even manage to score, with the previous goal being in the 2-2 draw between the two teams on November 21, 2021, Lamia – Asteras Tripoli.
Panathinaikos-Panserraikos
The last time Panathinaikos and Panserraikos met was on April 3, 2011 in Serres, where the home team recorded their last win of the season and the next came in this year’s return to the Super League.
With Panathinaikos at home, they have met since December 4, 2010 at OAKA with the Greens winning 2-0 thanks to the goals of Bumsong and Cisse. The last time the two teams played at the Alexandra Avenue stadium was on February 26, 1984, with the Greens winning 4-0 thanks to goals from Antoniou, Zaets and Michalis Vlachos who scored twice.
In total, the two teams have met 24 times with Panathinaikos at home, winning 21 of them. Panserraikos has won two games with 1-0, while there is also a 1-1 draw between them.
Panathinaikos’ biggest win over Panseraikos is 7-0 in the 1968-69 season, which came exactly one match after the Serres team’s maiden win away to the Greens in 1967-68, where they prevailed by 1 -0 thanks to Kalapoda’s goal.
Panathinaikos counts ten different victory scores against Panserraikos and the most frequent appearances are 3-1, 2-0 and 4-0 which have appeared four times.
Aris-PAS Ioannina
Aris has won in its last three games against PAS Ioannina and even with two of them away from home, while it remains unbeaten for the fourth consecutive time, since there is also the 0-0 Playoffs of the 2021-22 season .
Last season they prevailed in both matches between them, winning 4-0 in Ioannina and 3-1 in Thessaloniki and these three consecutive victories came after five matches that PAS Ioannina had maintained unbeaten in both venues.
Both teams scored in the Second Round matchup in Thessaloniki, something that had not happened in their previous six matches and the starting point for this streak was the 0-0 draw on January 11, 2021 in Ioannina.
This is the 25th time that Aris will welcome PAS Ioannina and in their meetings so far they have 15 wins, the team from Epirus has won twice and seven of their games have ended in draws.
Aris’ biggest win over PAS Ioannina was 4-0 in the 1975-76 season, while most are 1-0, a score that has featured in five of Aris’ 14 total wins.
