Verstappen is also “King” in Mexico!

by

Max Verstappen also swept the Mexican circuit! The Dutch pilot of Red Bull and current world champion, did not settle for his premature crowning and after Texas, he also won the Mexican Grand Prix. Second with Mercedes is Lewis Hamilton, in third place is Charles Leclerc with Ferrari.

Unbelievable misfortune for Sergio Peres who in the second corner of the first round went out and did not manage to continue the race in his home country. “Curse” for Magnussen too as his car went out in the 33rd of the Grand Prix resulting in a temporary interruption.

19 out of 20 cars took part in the race with Stroll starting from the pit lane. Verstappen made an amazing start, something that also happened with Sergio Perez, who was unlucky after he collided with Leclerc in the 2nd corner and went off the track leaving the race.

Despite the … chaos behind him, Verstappen got away from Leclerc and Hamilton, with the Ferrati driver taking a big lead from third-placed Saint.

At the same time, Hamilton and Ricciardo were battling for 3rd place with the AlphaTauri driver unable to withstand the British pressure and succumbing 10 laps later.

From that point on, Hamilton began to hunt down Leclerc and Saints. On lap 20 Verstappen pitted and returned to 7th, behind Russell, who he easily passed to move up to 6th.

And while everything looked normal, an unfortunate moment came for Magnussen to “throw” the Grand Prix in the air. The Haas driver had a fierce exit and literally wrecked his car in the barriers at Turn 8. The Safety Car came out on the track and several drivers took the opportunity to make a “cheap” pit stop.

The damage was so great to the barriers that it led to the temporary shutdown. Half an hour later the cars took their starting positions again, in the order they had when the red flag came out.

Verstappen again got off to a great start and stayed in 1st with Leclerc holding on to second. Towards the end and with the top three decided the interest moved from 5th place and back.

Hulkenberg, Ocon, Gasly and Bottas battled for 10th and the final point, with the Haas German holding the position and successfully defending it, until Ocon finally passed him.

A little further, Norris and Russell dueled for 5th place, which he managed to get after an amazing deceleration.

The finish found Verstappen once again triumphant and poised to overtake Vettel in wins in Brazil. Hamilton finished 2nd and Leclerc 3rd. Followed by Saint, Norris, Russell, Ricardo, Piastri, Albon and Ocon. On the last lap Hamilton set the fastest lap of the race.
