The action for the 10th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League continues today with four games, after the victory of Panathinaikos in Lamia and the “gela” of AEK with Kifissia in Kaisariani.
Panaitolikos-Asteras Tripoli
After three consecutive games between Panaitolikos and Asteras Tripoli, in which no goal had been scored, it came to the Stoiximan Playouts where both opponents scored with the Arcadia team finally winning 2-1 at home.
Panaitolikos even scored after six consecutive matches without a goal against Asteras in both venues, since his previous one was a 1-1 draw between them in Agrinio on October 3, 2020. Of course, since then he has scored as a home team against Asteras and they have refereed three games that have all ended in a clean draw.
At the same time, all seven of the last matches between the two teams in Agrinio have ended in a draw and the last time there was a winner was on May 6, 2018 when Asteras prevailed 2-0, in the 30th and last matchday of the championship. Of the eight draws, five are 1-1 and the other three are 0-0.
Generally in the head-to-head games at both venues a draw is the dominant result with eleven of their 25 games having ended without a winner. In the rest, there are ten victories of Asteras Tripoli and just three of Panaitolikos.
The two teams have also met in the 3rd National Championship in the 2005-06 season, with each winning at home, while they have never faced each other for the Greek Cup.
PAS Ioannina-Volos
Volos managed to win both of their matches in the championship last year, first at home and then in the city of Epirus for the penultimate game with 1-0.
The two teams have already met for the Greek Cup this season on October 7 in Ioannina and Volos prevailed 2-1, advanced to the next stage and at the same time made it three consecutive victories against PAS.
Ioannina, on the other hand, are coming off the worst streak in their history in the league, since they now have five consecutive defeats, while their previous performance was four, while if the Greek Cup match is added, they are now at six in general.
They have faced Volos three times in Ioannina and there is one victory of PAS and two of the Magnesia team for the championship.
The two seats have faced each other seven times and Volos has four wins, while there are two draws and one victory for PAS.
Volos also came from a negative streak, which had remained without a win for 17 consecutive matches in the championship, where they counted 14 defeats and three draws. His home win the previous matchday against Kifissia put an end to this negative streak.
There have been goals in all four matches that have been played with PAS as hosts for the championship and the Greek Cup, while the only 0-0 has occurred at the home of Volos in 2021-22.
Olympiacos-PAOK
Only in two of the last ten games between the two teams in all competitions has the home team won. In the rest there are five draws and three wins for the away team.
In total, Olympiacos has four wins in the last ten matches, independent of the competition and home, while PAOK prevailed in their last year’s match for the regular duration of the championship.
In total, Olympiacos and PAOK have faced each other 69 times with the home team of Piraeus and in 48 of them the Red and Whites have won. PAOK has won 12 times away from the home of Olympiakos, while there are still 9 matches that ended in draws.
Olympiacos has a streak of 14 consecutive victories in PAOK’s home games from November 12, 1989, until February 23, 2003.
PAOK managed to win on January 11, 2004 and break this streak, while on October 16, 2005 they won 2-1 at the new Karaiskakis Stadium and were the first team to leave the renovated stadium victorious.
Olympiakos’ biggest home win against PAOK was on June 3, 1962, with a score of 6-0 and Giorgos Sideris scoring four goals, the most ever scored by a player in a derby with PAOK. Stelios Psychos scored the other two goals in that match.
Giorgos Sideris has scored a total of 9 goals in home matches with PAOK, while Nikos Anastopoulos is in second place with 7 goals.
Pantelis Kafes scored a hat trick for PAOK on February 23, 2003, in the 4-3 defeat of Dikefalos in Rizoupoli.
Ares-Atromitos
Aris has gone six matches without defeat against Atromitos at home and away, while in the last three games they have played against Atromitos they have prevailed and even in two without conceding a goal.
This streak of the Yellows came after two consecutive wins by the team of Peristeri. On March 1, 2020, Atromitos won 2-1 and on April 14, 2019, 2-0.
Atromitos has managed to score in only seven of the 17 matches that the two teams have played, while both teams have scored in only five.
Aris’ biggest victory was on May 15, 1977, when they prevailed 5-0 thanks to goals from Ballis, Isaakidis (2), Ananiadis (2).
Three of the four draws in the games between them were 0-0, while there is also one 1-1. He has three appearances and 2-0 in the victories of Aris, while two of the four victories for Atromitos are 2-1.
The history of the two teams in the First National/Super League began with white draws in the 1972-73 season, after both the first games played in Thessaloniki and the second in Peristeri ended with 0-0.
Aris prevailed 3-1 in the second match that hosted Atromitos, while its game in Peristeri ended 0-0. Until 1980-81 they met six times and Aris won four of them and there were two clean draws.
