With Stathis Manolopoulos and Yiannis Kioseloglou being eliminated in the 1st round of the Under 19 and Under 15 categories respectively, today Saturday 04/11 the Greek competitive presence in the boys’ categories at the World Table Tennis Youth Contender in Hungary, which is being held in Sobateli, came to an end . After qualifying yesterday in the table with the 2nd place from their groups, our two champions “fell” against high obstacles from Poland. They were defeated in three sets and ranked 33-64 in the tournament. Marios Katsaprakakis, Yiannis Anastasiadis, Yiannis Koutras and Dimitris-Marios Alexandridis also competed in Sobateli. In the lameness of the last three athletes and Kioseloglou was the coach of Poseidon Loutraki Christos Tsarsitalides. Malamatenia Papadimitriou (Under 19 category) will compete in the Hungarian Youth Contender in the next few days, while Manolopoulos and Katsaprakakis will continue their strong competitive tests from the day after tomorrow in the corresponding tournament in Slovakia, in Senek.
It was very important for all the children that they tested their strength in very strong matches, in fact some of them made their debut in the institution in Hungary.
In the category of Under 19 athletes, Manolopoulos had qualified with 1 win and 1 loss. In the knockouts, he tried to make it difficult for Polish Michal Gawlas with his defense, but the latter showed great quality. Manolopoulos was eliminated with 3-0 sets (9-11, 5-11, 8-11). It should be noted that Gavlas plays in the Polish league.
In the Under 15 category of athletes, Kioseloglou also got through his group with 1 win and 1 loss. Poland’s Jan Mrugala, who met in the “64”, was very remarkable and the elimination came with 3-0 sets (4-11, 9-11, 3-11).
