THE KAE Panathinaikos celebrates its 10th season of active participation in its “One Team” CSR program Euroleaguethrough its collaboration with Special Olympics Greece as part of “Basketball is Everywhere”.
The announcement of KAE Panathinaikos in detail:
“Having as its guiding principle its long-term support for people with mental disabilities, KAE Panathinaikos sets as the main goal of this season’s program not only to help athletes recognize their strengths and utilize their potential, both in basketball and as members of society, but also to promote their inclusion in it. At the same time, from this season female athletes of the Special Olympics Hellas team will also participate in training, which strengthens our effort to promote gender equality.
The One Team Ambassadors of Panathinaikos, Kostas Slukas and Kostas Antetokounmpo, with the active participation of all our athletes, have undertaken to pass on the secrets of basketball and the values of sports to the Special Olympics Hellas team.
The second training session held at the OAKA facilities was attended by Luca Vildosa, who spoke to the participants about the importance of respect and teamwork in sports. The young athletes had the opportunity to chat and take pictures with him.

Special Olympics Hellas was founded in 1988 and is the National Program of Special Olympics International that offers, completely free, sports opportunities and participation in games and sports programs, to 6 million people with mental disabilities, in over 190 countries. For 35 years, Special Olympics Hellas has been operating continuously and has been active with its absolute priority defending and promoting the rights of people with mental disabilities in sports. Through the educational and cultural programs, Special Olympics Hellas informs and raises society’s awareness of mental disability, with the aim of integrating people with mental disabilities in all sectors of society, as well as highlighting the voluntary movement in our country.”
