THE Stefanos Tsitsipas he failed to continue his fight with him Holger Rune at the ATP Finals in Turin, as he withdrew from the match due to injury and will likely not continue in the event.

The Greek tennis player in his statements apologized to the worldwhile he emphasized that tennis is not darts, adding that he hates to withdraw from the games.

I apologize to all the fans and the public who came to support me and watch the match. I’m really upset that I couldn’t finish the race. My doctors and the countless visits I had in the previous days, suggested I play, gave me the “green” light. Unfortunately, I felt terrible on the pitch. I tried everything I could do in the best possible way to be ready for this match, but it didn’t work out for me.

I hate pulling out of races. I’m not the kind of person who likes to leave mid-match. It’s killing me that I can’t finish this tournament, the one I’ve been preparing for for so long, I’ve made sure I’m in shape to perform to the best of my ability and show my potential as a player“, he said initially and continued:

I had a little problem with my movement. It is mainly affected when I move. It’s hard to compete in the race without having to move. This is tennis, not darts. For me, it’s important to be fit and feel good about my back. The pain was too great. I’ve been through pain during matches before, and I endured pain, but it was clearly too much to handle.

I had to make the difficult decision to do what I did. I felt it in the second game of the match. I really felt it in the warm-up with my serve, I felt really irritated there, the pain was shooting through my back. At that point I realized that I might not be able to go all the way“, were his words Stefanou Tsitsipas.
