Both teams went cold offensively in the second period, scoring only on shots in the first three minutes and with Monaco taking a 29-28 lead before Larkin and Beaubois hit back-to-back 3-pointers to put Ephesus back up +4 ( 33-29). Starring the two guards, the visitors continued to find consistent offensive solutions, taking their biggest lead of the game (+8, 44-36), while the first half ended with Efes having a four-point lead (48-44 ) and with James not having scored a single point, heading into the locker room.

Monaco came within striking distance early in the third quarter, with Motejunas scoring 13 personal points and James scoring his first points of the game to cut the deficit to 50-53 for the home team.
