Three Turkish lawyers filed a complaint with the Istanbul prosecutor’s office, in order to send it to the International Criminal Court (ICC), against the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu.

“Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is the subject of our petition, does not hesitate to use weapons prohibited by the international acquis in committing the alleged crimes,” reads the text of the petition filed by former MP Metin Kulunk, Mujahid Birinci and Burak Bekiroglu, all lawyers close to the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).

The three complainants state in their application that Netanyahu is slaughtering residents of Gaza, regardless of whether they are infants, children, women, civilians, “in order to implement the imaginary map of the Zionist edifice” and request that Netanyahu and the his associates, as provided by international criminal law.

The petition, which includes photographs of children killed or injured in Gaza as a result of Israeli attacks, also notes that “silence in the face of all these events will undermine humanity’s faith in laws and cast a shadow over the impartiality of the International Criminal Court ».
