Bartzokas: “We are in a difficult period, lucky that Sikma is back”

by

He called it important George Bartzokas victory (79-74) of Olympiakos over Maccabi Tel Avivbecause of the many problems plaguing his team.

From then on, the coach of Piraeus referred to his return Luke Sikmawho gave solutions to the time he played, while also talking about some questionable whistles by the referees, all of which were in favor of the Israelis.

In detail what Giorgos Bartzokas said:

We expected nothing less than a tough game. We are in a difficult period, we have a very ‘short’ rotation due to our injuries, so our preparation for the games is problematic. During the match we lost Goss to injury and Peters (foul), so our rotation was further reduced. But we were lucky that Shikma came back. He gave us eleven important minutes in this match and I hope that soon we will have all the players available to show what we can do.

This win is very important. It’s always a strange match when you play without fans and that applies to both teams, not just us. We had the lead throughout the game and finally manage to get the win, even though all the 50-50 possessions, all the questionable whistles were against us. Congratulations to my players for the great victory. I wish Maccabi all the best».
