First win and upset for the U19 National Team against Lithuania

Our National team won its first victory in the group stage for the U19 European Championship qualifiers today. Our internationals in the game for the second matchday prevailed 2-1 against Lithuania and in fact overturning the score against them that had been established since the 12th minute.

At this point in the match, the referee awarded a penalty with Iansonas taking it well and giving his team the lead. But our internationals reacted in the second half. In the 47th minute, Kontonikos tied the game at 1-1 and nine minutes later (56′) Tzimas managed to turn the tide and put our National Team in front of the score.

With this victory, our national team has 3 points in the group with a win and a loss and is tied with Turkey and Belarus who have one match less, the one between them.
