Position for the finalization of the decision to deduct points was taken by Evertonthrough statements from its athletic director, Kevin Thelwellwhich were posted on the club’s official website.
In them, the sentencing is described as completely unfair, while it is then emphasized that everyone in the team remains focused on their work, so that they can continue to earn points on the playing fields.
The announcement in detail:
“Given what happened last week, I felt it was important to share my, Dyce’s and the team’s thoughts as we head back into action.
We are shocked by the completely unfair decision to deduct points, we cannot say anything more about the committee’s finding until the appeal process is complete.
But the clear impact on our league position due to the decision is clear in the table, having dropped five places from where we were after our hard-fought win against Crystal Palace. Those three points may no longer count on the scoreboard, but what remains is our strength, unity and determination to win the points on the pitch.
Everton are a special club, who have shown teamwork, bravery and a strong spirit. Sean Dice and the players are fully focused on the job at hand. We know that each of our friends is by our side, we feel the strength of their support, and we will continue to use that support as our guide.”.
Our Director of Football, Kevin Thelwell, has written to Evertonians on the recent ‘wholly disproportionate and unjust ruling’.
