Messina: “I made a joke with Napier, the journalist took it seriously”

Wreck out of nowhere about two weeks ago o Ettore Messinawho through his controversial statements “emptied” him Kevin Pangoswhile he involved Shabazz Napier with scenarios of a return to Armani Milan.

The latter reacted immediately via social media and was quick to characterize what the experienced technician said as lies, who has since been trying to defend himself and blame the journalist for misinterpreting what he said.

This is what the Italian also did in an interview he gave to “Meridian Sport” ahead of the match Armani by Red Star in Belgrade. Messina said what he said about Napier was a joke, which the reporter took seriously.

In detail what he said:

“I joked about Napier, that he’d probably like to be with us now. The reporter took it as a statement. If you noticed, there was no reaction from said reporter. That says enough. No, that says it all. I have the utmost respect for Shabazz. He came to Milan, he played very well, we won the title together against a big team like Virtus. And, of course, we wanted him to stay at the club, we were sad that we couldn’t keep him, but that’s life. He wanted to come to Red Star and we wish him the best. I was very sorry for what happened. And I will repeat – it is very interesting that there was no response from journalists. They usually have the last word.”
