A very important meeting for the future of women’s football in Greece took place today between EPO and PSAPP.
The two sides discussed the developments that exist regarding the development of the sport in the country and discussed the interventions that need to be made, with the main topic being the insurance coverage of female soccer players and other operational issues.

“On the occasion of UEFA’s recent initiative for the “establishment of the minimum operating specifications of the Women’s National Teams”, a working meeting between representatives of the Federation and the PSAPP was held at the offices of the UEFA.
Specifically, between the Executive Director of the Federation, Mr. Iakovos Filippousis, the President of PSAPP, Mr. Bandis and a delegation of the Association, consisting of Mrs. Elena Papadopoulou and Mr. Christos Staikos, responsible for Women’s football, and Mr. Athanasios Makryniotis , Legal Advisor of the Association, as well as the head of the Women’s Football Department of the Federation, Mr. Amalia Thomaidou.
The EPO and the PSAPP have confirmed their commitment to the faithful and continuous implementation of the new operating framework of Women’s Football in Greece, with the central priority being the upgrading of the operation of the National Teams in the framework in which the corresponding Men’s teams also operate.
The PSAPP delegation emphasized that the specific plan is already underway, as the Federation is already implementing new practices in relation to the medical and insurance coverage of the missions, the upgrading of the training camps, the staffing of the training and medical team, the benefits to the female soccer players
PSAPP then raised the crucial issue of forming an insurance policy, which will provide comprehensive insurance coverage to female soccer players, both at the national team level and at the club level. The adoption of regulatory interventions by the EPO in matters of the operation of women’s football was also discussed, and the need to formulate a special institutional regulatory framework of specifications, especially at the level of the associations, was agreed.
EPO and PSAPP committed to their continuous and fruitful cooperation, with the ultimate goal of identifying critical issues in time and achieving their correct treatment, and in the near future there will be close cooperation».
