Acceleration of procedures for the preparation of tenders and the implementation of investments in offshore wind farms announced by the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy Alexandra Sdoukou speaking at the “Energy Security and Green Development” conference organized by the ministry.

The aim, he said, is to complete the preparatory work in 2024 in order to call for tenders in 2025 and to achieve the goal set for 1.9 gigawatts of offshore parks by 2030.

Referring to the required electrical space for the reception of the new RES units, Mrs. Sdoukou stated that from now on the new tenders will include the provision for cuts in production and that the number and categories of the tenders that will be held up to in 2026 for RES and batteries.

Finally, Mrs. Sdoukou mentioned that the Greek participation in the COP28 world conference on climate change that starts this week in Dubai will be upgraded, by order of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. For the first time, as he said, there will be a Greek stand where many discussions will be hosted and Greek positions will be presented.
