Kifisia’s “maiden” European trip to the Challenge Cup ended today in Turkey, in the “32” phase of the competition, after the second defeat experienced by the team from the northern suburbs from Galatasaray to Burhan Felek of Istanbul with 3- 0 sets.
The Turkish team confirmed the title of favorite in both matches, with the team from the northern suburbs again fighting with all their strength to take a set, but without succeeding.
At the beginning of the first two sets, Kifisia had the lead. In the first, he led 11-9, but received a 7-0 run and somewhere there the home team brought the game to… their own pace and made it 1-0 with 25-17.
In the second again, the team of Kostas Christofidelis went ahead with 18-14, but Galatasaray with a service weapon equalized, 21-21, with Kujundzic and at 23-23, Mihailovic with an attack and Ahmet Toomer with a block made it 25 -23 for 2-0.
The qualification was already decided for the Turks and in the third set the AOP coach made a series of changes. “Galata” easily reached 3-0 (25-20) and now Kifisia will turn its attention to the domestic competitions and the difficult match that follows with Milos.
