PAOK for abstaining from referees: “A positive step, but they have to provide all the evidence for the knife to reach the bone”

The Thessalonians state that they are in agreement with any move in this direction, however they make it clear how abstinence does not solve the problem and in isolation it can be treated as a mild reaction that will soon be forgotten.

PAEK PAOK consistently and consciously strives for clean and fair Greek football, therefore any move in this direction finds us in agreement.

It is a fact that Greek referees have often suffered unfathomable attacks, personal or even family pressures, attempts to influence them in any way.

Their current decision to abstain does not solve the problem and individually it can only be treated as a mild reaction that will soon be forgotten, like the one after the assassination attempt against Mr. Tzilos. However, if the arbitrators wish this to be the first step so that the State mainly and also the EPO will deal more seriously with their security issues, we will treat it as a positive step.

They must, however, provide all those elements necessary for the knife to reach the bone, otherwise it will be another lost opportunity. We call on them and we stand by them in their unyielding demand for security conditions from the State, which is not understood to have left unsolved crimes against persons, or showing tolerance to threats and pressures from wherever they come.
